THE IONESCO SHOW
France, Germany, the United States, Lebanon, Japan, Tunisia, Turkey…
Over the years the Theatre de la Huchette’s troupe travels all over the world. Still using the magnificent, original scenery created by Jacques Noël in 1962 the theatre’s actors continue to perform Eugene Ionesco’s two legendary plays in their original direction:
THE BOLD SOPRANO
Directed by Nicolas Bataille
An autopsy of contemporary society conveyed through the trivial and absurd statements exchanged between two couples.
Directed by Marcel Cuvelier
A shy professor and an insolent pupil. The roles will soon be reversed, the tables turned.
THE THRID SHOW
The Théâtre de la Huchette is also a place of creation. With the quality of its other productions they protect a reputation for iconic, rigorous, and modern French theatre.
UN BANC A L’OMBRE (A BENCH IN THE SHADE)
Written by Sasha Pairon, directed by Véronique Barrault
During a summer heat wave, a country is shattered by an unending revolution. Two young women, actresses and victims of this revolution, meet at the base of an ancient monastery where prisoners are held. Is their burgeoning friendship a coincidence? Psychological thriller or commentary?
UN RAPPORT SUR LA BANALITE DE L’AMOUR
Written by Mario Diament, adapted and directed by André Nerman
A story of passion between two exceptional beings, Hannah Arendt and Martin Heidegger, during the dark period of Nazi Germany. Everything should have kept them apart…
